StrongPoint signs an agreement for a pilot test with Coop in Sweden for Click & Collect

Published: 5. April 2019

StrongPoint has signed an agreement with the Swedish Coop for a pilot test of Click & Collect Pick-up lockers for Coop’s online store. The test is part of Coop’s massive investment in selling food online. Most importantly, it’s also a part of meeting new target group’s demands for increased flexibility.

Coop is now continuing its huge investment in e-commerce. The next step is to offer Click and Collect with Pick-up locker solution. As a result, Coop and StrongPoint have signed an agreement to carry out a pilot test.

The Pick-up lockers have a unique advantage of storing frozen, refrigerated and room-temperature goods. They will be placed at two of Coop’s stores, one of them is Stora Coop in Varberg. In fact, this store was the winner of “Digitized Store of the Year” award during last year’s retail event Dagligvarugalan 2018.

The pilot test begins in May

“We look forward to start this test. As more people discover the advantages of shopping for their food online, the demands on delivery solutions which adapt to the customers’ movement patterns increase. Pick-up lockers that can be placed in stores and in strategic locations are a service we believe in. Now we want to learn more about the solution before we take the next step and continue to develop our offering for our customers,” says Niklas Zeitlin, Operations Manager, Coop Online.

The test begins in May. If it turns out well, the plan is to roll out the solution to a larger number of stores around Sweden.

“After signing agreements for Click & Collect with Coop in Italy and Estonia, it is obviously fun to now also get a deal with Coop in Sweden. We are very pleased about the cooperation with an online pioneer Coop,” says Sven Calissendorff, Senior VP Managing Director at StrongPoint in Sweden.

This is StrongPoint’s 5th order of Click & Collect lockers over the past year. Altogether, a hundred lockers have been delivered to Norway, Russia, Lithuania, Estonia and Italy.
