Rimi launches E-commerce earlier than planned

Published: 4. May 2020

In these historic times, the world is moving faster than ever in some parts of the world. One of the companies that are making big changes in the wake of Covid-19 is Rimi in the Baltics.

Rimi in Lithuania quickly decided to launch their online shop even earlier than originally planned when they realised the huge need for E-commerce deliveries. StrongPoint, understanding the significance of the situation and realizing the important role of grocery E-commerce during the quarantine, promptly agreed to prioritize Rimi to ensure that the implementation went as smoothly as possible.

“We planned to start the online shop in April. However, understanding the gravity of the current situation and seeing highly increased interest to our newly offered shopping method, we decided not to wait and launched the e-commerce for all customers in Vilnius already in March,” says Vaidas Lukoševičius, E-commerce Format Director at Rimi Lithuania.

StrongPoint was really pleased to be able to support Rimi in getting up and running quickly. StrongPoint has been involved in both the implementation of Pick & Collect (the system that ensures effective order management), integration and delivery of all necessary equipment for order picking process (wearable ring scanners, printers and mobile scales). StrongPoint also ensures prompt support and maintenance both through our service organisation and the development team. In collaboration with Rimi, StrongPoint will keep looking for even more innovative methods that can help to serve as many E-commerce customers as possible.

“To help the retailer transform their business processes to meet the pandemic challenges in the best possible way is one of our top priorities at the moment. We understand the key role that Rimi has in the society today in providing people with food products and the necessary household goods in the current situation. We are proud to be working closely with the Rimi team to launch the e-commerce in Estonia same promptly fashion,” says Rimantas Mažulis, SVP and Managing Director at StrongPoint Baltics.
