Purchasing power is recovering, but will that lead to a recovery in commodity purchases? Or maybe we’ll just save more

The inflation rate is already lower than the annual change in wages, which is a good sign for retailers. On the other hand, the household savings rate is close to zero again, which is not sustainable. In addition, the interest rates of the central banks will not decrease at least in the first half of 2024 and will reduce the spending ability of households with loans. The situation in the export markets doesn’t look optimistic either. What do such market conditions hold for retailers? I will try to answer this question in my presentation.

It is common to think that people start preparing for Christmas in December, but is that the case? Can we talk about early gift buyers and latecomers? What role do Black Friday sales play in gift buying? Do people tend to prepare for sales, and how much do they believe in discounts?
